"Leave a little sparkle wherever you go"
Sorry for not posting in such a long time it has been some busy times around here. We finally moved into our new home and we have been super busy cleaning and painting to get it move in ready. There are still some boxes around but most of our things are put away. I would like to get more done each day but lately I can only really handle about 2 hours on my feet at a time before they start to swell and I get really tired. So I usually have to wait until Matt gets home from work to help me out. We painted the nursery and it is sooo pretty. I will post the finished product. I am kinda of weird and don't want to fully set it up until we are a bit further a long, so people with have to wait to see the finished product.
Well, I almost done with my second trimester with the little Inkies. I have been keeping a mental note of second trimester things that no one really tells you about. I am pretty sure most of this stuff I am feeling is completely due to carrying twins.
Some Stats:
Gestation: 26 Weeks
Weight Gain: 28lbs
Shoe size: now a size 8 was a 7
Wedding bands: Off since 21 weeks
Stretch marks: NONE!
Belly button: Flat (gonna pop out soon)
Postion of Babes: Head down
Cravings: Root Beer, Cherries, and sharp cheddar cheese
Things people don't talk about that happen in the 2nd Trimester!!!!
1. Random bouts of vomiting still occur. What the hell? I thought that was only a first trimester thing... nope you can thank reflux for that.
2. You wake up one morning and look down and you can't see your feet anymore. It totally freaks you out because then it hits you... I really am preggers.
3. Your feet grow a full size! EXCUSE TO GO SHOPPING!
4. People stare at you.
5. The first time you feel a true kick it really weirds you out a bit. It is a pretty odd feeling. I would describe it like a little fish bumping around in a tank. Some people would describe it as flutters I say it is more like thuds and tapping.
6.You are going about your day when all of the sudden you look down at your shirt and notice some wet spots in the booby area. Yep you are lactating! It is completely normal but totally weird and totally freaks you out.
7. Shaving your legs becomes quite an interesting challenge.
8. Everything aches: your back, feet, knees and the knuckles in you hands. Also did you know you can get carpal tunnel?
9. Lets talk about chafing thighs....
10. You always smile when you feel the little beans move but at some point you really would like to fall asleep.
11. You will be walking along in Macys when all of the sudden you feel a sharp feeling "down there" and actually shout out in pain. You just got nailed in the cervix by a foot.
12. Food. Food. Food. You just want to keep eating only to have reflux 10 mins later and feel like you have to puke.
13. Picking up things from the floor becomes an interesting acrobatic act that involves a wide squat while bracing your belly with the other hand.
14. nasal stuffiness.
15. You might one day notice that your wedding band is a bit tight, you take it off and then try to get it back on only to have your finger turn blue. Then you panic. Here is some advice DON'T force on your wedding band!!!!
16. As your stomach becomes displaced by your growing uterus you start to hear the most interesting gurgling and digestive sounds. It is really loud and slightly embarrassing.
17. You literally sleep with 5 pillows: two to elevate your head (due to reflux), one between the legs, one by your chest, and one behind the back.
18. As you make future plans with friends and you start to ask... "are kids invited?" It is totally weird when you realize that those fall and winter plans will involve the little ones.
19. When you pass a fellow preggo on the street there is an unspoken sympathy that is usually acknowledged with a head nod and you are both thinking something like, "yep we are huge hang in there" then you kind of want to run up to her and bump bellies.
20. Not everyone has names picked out since conception. You don't need to stress about it. Some people just have a hard time deciding. So finally you and the hubs just come to the conclusion that this naming thing is just going to have to be a game day decision.
