Motherhood...When changing from plaid flannel pj pants into black yoga pants qualifies as 'getting dressed'.
HEY YO!!! They are getting too big….. Anywho….
The twins are 6 months old. I can't believe it. We have made it half a year and we are still standing. Once we hit a year we will be popping some champagne for sure! All the other twin moms I have meet here in Columbus tell me that the first year is by far the hardest and it gets better. I think the first year of parenting for any first time mom is sooo hard and scary. But being handed two at once, is just asking for a lot of "oh shit moments" and thoughts of, " AHHH I really have no clue what the heck am I doing." So we started solids recently. I am standing in the kitchen thinking "um… what do I give a 5 month old? How much? Will they like it… oh heck lets see what happens." Well the first bite of veggies was literally spit in my face followed by gagging. So that didn't go very well. Then I figured out patience and a sense of humor are a must. We are doing way better now with solids. The two of them sit in the high chair glaring at me like "ok mom… what's next?" They scare me.
At least we have sleeping down now. Yeah sure, they will wake up now and then in a panic because they can't find the pacifier and I need go and plug them up. They also have mastered the pooping and peeing through everything in the middle of the night (thankfully that only happens once in awhile. I even use special night diapers from Pampers… ultra hold is all lies!!!) so that is really fun. However no more feedings at night is amazing!!!!!!! Charlotte also figured out how to turn on her Nemo light show on her crib. It scared me half to death at 3 in the morning when the monitor turned on and I hear music and lighs glowing on the screen. I walked into the nursery to see Charlotte wide awake playing. I slowly back away before she sees me. I don't care if she is awake at 3 am playing with a toy. She plays and then falls back asleep. However, this has now become a nightly thing. She turns it on every night to see her Nemo. Oh child….
Meanwhile, Grace has figured out that her pacifier is a toy and she pops it in and out of her mouth with her hand to make popping noises. She thinks this is hilarious…. whatever floats her boat.

Bathing. Well, we have a nighttime routine. They girls get a bath every night and the LOVE LOVE LOVE bath time. I have figured out a way to feed and bathe them all by myself. BOOM! Yeah there is usually crying involved but only a little bit. They scream when coming out of the water. But, once the little butts hit the bath tub I'm golden. They like to enjoy the tub. The two lounge in there like they are at a spa or something.
Another new development has been playing together. But really it is just them stealing each other's toys even if they have the exact same toy. It is super cute (this is when the twin thing gets fun). I find them sitting there smiling at each other and holding hands. It is super precious. Two heads are better than one!
So as I usually do with my blog posts I wanted to give a little bit of product review and some info for the baby stuff that I love and find useful!! So here we go!

1. Merlins Magic Sleep Suit! HAHAHAH my yellow marshmallow! We used this suit for about 2 months to help transition them from the swaddle. They loved it. It was an amazing product. Once they grew out of it I simply placed them in a different sleep sack with no problems. The suit did the job it was intended to.
They look hilarious like a big yellow peep. It works by muffling the startle reflux that babies typically have. I got yelled at to stop swaddling the girls by my pediatrician once they started turning on their sides. However, they loved it so much so I needed to find something to help them sleep. So I found this. They can move their arms and legs. It kinda looks like snow suit but they can get their hands to the mouth. Here is the link on amazon.

2. This is the baby DeeDee. This is the sleep sack we are using now. It is so great! I love it because it is soft and cotton lined and you don't have to wrestle the arms in the holes because it has buttons that you simple snap open to get the sac off or on. I have put it on when the girls are asleep with out ever waking them! Awesome. (you can also find it on Amazon as well)

3. Ok Diapers! Soooo these are the Honest Company diapers. They are really great, work very well, and are adorable. I have used them at night time too and they work just as well as those nighttime diapers from pampers and huggies. The company is awesome because you buy the bundle online and they deliver them to your house. The bundle also includes wipes. They are super absorbent, hypoallergenic, free of toxins… all natural! Plus you get to pick the cute designs. If anyone is interested in these diapers let me know. Private message me if you want more details about the diapers.
4. Soo simple. Such a great little bath nest. I have been using this since the girls were born. Now I use it in my big bath tub. It is great because it fully folds up. It dries easily and the girls like the lounge in it. Plus it is only $16 at target. No need for all those fancy tubs.

5. My final favorite baby item. The Gerber soft center pacifiers! After buying many many types of pacifiers these are the only one my girls take. So for anyone out there having a difficult time finding a pacifier for your kids give this a try. I was using other ones when they were newborns then at about 12 weeks they decided to not take a pacifier. But the girls used pacifiers to soothe so I needed to find something for my sanity. They were frustrated and so was I! So I found these… they are kinda old school no orthodontic nipple… oh well. Now they hold on to the little ring and put the pacifier in their mouths all by themselves. I actually ran into another mom with this same one and we both laughed because it was the only one her son would take as well. Her son had a pink one in his mouth and she laughed because she could only find pink at walmart. So he was sporting pink pacifier… love it! Another great thing about these is that they do not rub against the skin like a ton of other pacifiers. Therefore, youdon't have to worry about rashes from this one. I have only found them on amazon or at select Walmarts.
